In March 2018 some of our residents visited Greatmoor ‘Energy from Waste’ facility. Our grey bin non-recycling waste is taken there and incinerated generating enough electricity for nearly 20% of homes in South Bucks.

Click here for a video of the Rochester Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) run by Viridor. The video is a good example of the process that is undertaken at an MRF but a bit confusing because the kerbside collections vary (some make separate paper collections and others combine them with other recyclables in pink sacks). The video shows allot of plastic bags in the pink sacks. For our kerbside collections plastic bags go in the grey bins for Greatmoor EfW.
