Warren Wood Village Green Success

On Friday 12th July 2024, after 7 years of going through hoops and legal wrangles including a possible public enquiry,  John Fowler was notified that our application for a Village Green had been successful.   John had worked tirelessly with Bucks County Council through officers in Aylesbury over this period.

In 2017 WWRA applied for Village Green status to protect the Green from future plans for it’s development. To qualify, the Committee provided Buckinghamshire Council with evidence for recreational use by residents for a period of 45 years (See footnote – Village Green, Oct 15th 2017)

The now ‘Village Green’ is a focal point for our residents through regular BBQ’s, children’s play and volunteering activities to enhance it’s value for residents and the environment. We now have confidence that these activities can continue into the future without threat from development.

The ‘Village Green’ continues to be owned by BC and maintenance will continue to be their responsibility.  We will continue our close dialogue with BC to serve the needs of our residents and the environment.
